Determining the Area of Review for Industrial Waste Disposal Wells.

Pagination or Media Count:
The area of review is defined by the radial distance from waste disposal wells in which the injection formation fluid pressure increases sufficiently to force formation fluids andor injected wastes up abandoned well bores to contaminate underground sources of drinking water. The cost of corrective action required to prevent such contamination within the area of review can be considerable. To minimize the costs associated with subsurface disposal operations an appropriate area of review must be adequately defined. This report provides a simplified procedure which can be utilized to determine a minimum area of review which can be safely applied to a given subsurface injection operation.
