The overall objective of this research is the development of solution algorithms for complex flowfields using procedures that take account of, recognize, and couple interacting subdomains. In task I, non-adaptive embedded mesh solutions of the Euler equations have been obtained for NACA 0012, RAE 2822, and Korn 1 air foils. In Task II adaptive embedded mesh solutions have been obtained for one-dimensional flows with shock waves and a two-dimensional scalar convection-diffusion equation.
