Shock Wave Loading on a Two-Dimensional Generic Truck/Shelter Model

The BRL 57.5 cm shock tube was utilized to produce square and decaying waves. Pressure-time data were obtained for the diffraction and drag loading phases on a nonresponding two-dimensional model of a truckshelter. Records were procured for the model, both with and without boundary conditions, at average input pressures of 34.3, 70.0, and 102.2 kPa. Comparisons with the NASA-AMES two-dimensional computer code are presented.
