The acute dermal toxicity potential of the candidate insect repellent CHR6 was determined in rabbits using abraded skin sites and plastic covering over the exposed area for 24 hours. No animals died or showed clinical signs of toxicity. The treated animals showed a slight irritation on the back, primarily along the abraded areas. This compound should be exposed to further toxicological testing for human use potential as an insect repellent. Author
