Abstract:

The purpose of this report is to address the concerns of personnel managers about the accuracy of the ASVAB score scale. The accuracy of the scale is defined in terms of meaning of the scores the same score should indicate the same level of expected performance regardless of which version of the test is administered. We reanalyzed the sample of examinees, tested in fall 1975, used to construct the original scale for ASVAB 567. We attempted to determine the causes of the error in the scale and then to verify that the corrections to the scale did in fact restore the traditional meaning of the ASVAB scores.
