Abstract:

The children of military families have long been referred to as military dependents. Although this conceptualization is correct in one sense, it should not inferred that the nature of the relationship is unidirectional, i.e., the military impacts on the child. It is far more accurate to envision an interactive model in which the military system affects and is affected by its children. The purpose of this volume is to elucidate many of the factors which reciprocally operate between the military and its youthful dependents.
