Abstract:

This is a report of an occupational survey of the Inflight Refueling Operators career ladder AFSC 112XO completed by the Occupational Analysis Branch, USAF Occupational Measurement Center.This is one of several enlisted aircrew AFSCsbeing surveyed to aid in determining the feasibility of a centralized undergrad uate enlisted aircrew technical school. Presently, prospective 11230 personnel progress through two courses which include three phases of initial skills training. The first phase is the Enlisted Aviation Undergarduate School EAUS, which lasts 20 days and services both the inflight refueling operators and the defensive aerial gunners AFSC 11XO. This course has been running on a trail basis, but present action in under way to permanently incorporate it into AFR 50-5. Essentially, the course covers general aircrew duties, military training, counseling, and so forth. The idea behind establishment of the course is early evaluation of individual abilities to handle the required flying.
