A series of cumylphenoxy phthalocyanines derivatives, including the metal free and the Cu, Co, Ni, Pd and Pt substituted, were synthesized and characterized. Stable, insoluble monomolecular films were formed when spread at the waterair interface. Film pressure vs. areamolecule isotherms were determined for each derivative and the results discussed in terms of possible molecular orientations. Author
