This project studied the possibility of establishing an Ada cross-compiler hosted on the CDC Cyber 6000 family and targeted to the zilog Z800. Initial work supports the feasibility of a complete implementation. The present front-end processor of the compiler is capable of parsing full Ada syntax and processing most declarations and executable statements. The back-end processor of the compiler is less complete than the front-end although it has sucessfully translated simple Ada programs. During initial development, the author discovered a new implementation technique that may be beneficial to other Ada implementors. Full implementation of this Ada compiler is projected for October 1983 and will be the subject of subsequent reports.
