The amount of interaction between a fluid and a compliant coating is studied for a one dimensional shear fluid disturbance. A thin inhomogeneous viscoelastic layer is located at the interface between the fluid and the coating. The fluid is assumed to have no mean flow field. The effect of different coating properties, thickness of compliant coating and of transition layer as well as the frequency of oscillations are analyzed. Author
