Evaluation of an Observation-Based Climatology Model for Predicting Visibility for Data-Void Locations in Germany.

An observation-based climatological model for predicting visibility in data-void locations in Germany previously developed is evaluated. Two methods are used. First the model based on data from thirty stations calibration set is evaluated using a second set of thirty stations evaluation set. Second, the model is evaluated using sample re-use. The model was shown to give good results for estimating visibility results for nearly all of the stations. Author
