Abstract:
Li-B alloy discharges comparably with pure Li in PC-LiC10 sub 4 and 23 deg C. The alloy may find useful application where safety considerations permit sacrificing some coulombic capacity versus unsupported Li. Measurement of electrochemical Li utilization suggests the alloy is a mixture of elemental Li plus a Li-B compound whose stoichiometry is in the vicinity of Li sub 7 B sub 6.
