This review, invited by Paleobiology, presents an overview of some of the general techniques available for the analysis of morphology, concentrating on some recent advances in statistical estimation of the deformation of shape. These featured methods graphically utilize homological congruence in form as a means for morphological comparison. Robust statistical methods, such as repeated median techniques, can be employed in order to effectively identify localized regions of shape change. Author
