Asymptotic solutions are given for temperature profiles in laminar three-dimensional flows with viscous dissipation. The results are asymptotically valid for small thermal diffusivity they hold for Newtonian or non-Newtonian fluids. The fluid properties are evaluated at an average temperature for the system this is satisfactory for moderate temperature differences. Heat transfer formulas for various thermal boundary conditions are included. The general formulas are applied to several geometries numerical results are obtained for a wire-coating operation. Author
