In Phase I of this program, a general purpose CADCAM techniques was developed for producing precision-forging dies for the family of spiral bevel gears. This CADCAM method uses the following input data The specifications and overall dimensions of the spiral bevel gear to be produced Data on billet material under forging conditions Friction shear factor, describing the friction shear stress at die-material interface and Forging conditions, i.e, temperatures and deformation rates.
