Abstract:

The Advanced Information System Research Project is a long-term effort to develop a sound technical, economic, and military basis for the support of future 1985 information systems for the U.S. Army. This study investigated the needs and requirements of U.S. Army information systems assessed technology in terms of systems, hardware, software, communications, and ADP capabilities of Eurasian Communist countries assessed the environment in which the systems would operate and derived generic requirements for post-1985 information systems and selected technical research issues which must be investigated to assist in the fielding of future systems.
