Abstract:
Successful methods for numerically processing overpressure-time measurements of shock and blast waves and sonic booms are presented and illustrated with sample results. These methods include the elimination of high- frequency random and other noise from the measurement by employing a fast- Fourier-transform technique and judiciously altering the high-frequency part of the Fourier spectrum the removal of low-frequency periodic fluctuations including baseline shift and drift from the record by using specially developed techniques described in the report and the extraction of information from the processed shock-wave record including shock wave arrival time, positive-phase duration and impulse, peak overpressure, rise time, and overpressure decay rate.
