A field study was conducted at Fort Hood, TX, to investigate the effects of Army tracked vehicle training on the resident mammal, bird, and plant populations. This report 1 describes preliminary indications of ecological differences between selected areas used for vehicle training and areas undisturbed by training, 2 documents the procedures used to obtain this information, and 3 analyzes Fort Hoods ecosystem to verify the effects of training activities on ecosystems examined in previous research.
