Abstract:

The increase in female personnel utilization aboard ship has initiated a need to examine gender based differences in anthropometrics, biomechanics, psychophysical performance, physiological attributes and the relationship of these factors to the design of shipboard equipment and fittings. Literature in this area was examined by Ayoub et al 1978. The purpose of the present report was to update and extend the baseline established by Ayoub et al 1978 by examining current work.
