Based on a visual inspection, operational history, and hydrologic and hydraulic analysis, the dam is considered to be in good condition. The size classification of the facility is small and its hazard classification is considered to be significant. In accordance with the recommended guidelines, the Spillway Design Flood SDF for the facility ranges between the 100-year frequency flood and the 12 PMF Probable Maximum Flood. Since the facility is classified near the upper bounds of the small category, the SDF is considered to be the 12 PMF. Results of the hydrologic and hydraulic analysis indicate the facility is not capable of passing andor storing the inflow resulting from a 1 2 PMF event without overtopping the emergency spillway dike. It must be noted, however, that the facility was found to be capable of accommodating the peak inflow from the 100-year frequency flood without overtopping. Nevertheless, the spillway system at Sunrise Lake Dam is considered to be inadequate.
