Abstract:
This report presents the initial effort in a program to assess the training potential of a new simulator Device 2F64C for training SH-3 replacement helicopter pilots. The report provides an account of the work accomplished and the preparations for assessing the device when ready-for-training. The report contains A description of the training situation at the fleet readiness squadron prior to and during the transition to a new curriculum which resulted from an instructional system development ISD program A discussion of TAEGs initiatives to enhance the training of replacement helicopter pilots A discussion of the factors impacting on syllabi content and the process used in developing syllabi for assessing the training effectiveness of Device 2F64C A description of the detailed scenarios developed to ensure effective implementation of a syllabus designed to realize the maximum potential of the new device The outline of an experimental plan for assessing the training effectiveness of Device 2F64C.
