Abstract:
A framework for a generic model of purposive human organizations is presented. The static model is based on relationships between pairs of resources, pairs of tasks, and resource-task pairs. The heart of the approach is a relational matroid which allows notations of such basic organizational patterns as authority, groupings of resources, task precedence, assignment of resources to tasks, and information flow.
