Abstract:

The Fiber Optic Translator Unit FOTU provides bi-directional translation of wide dynamic range optical signals to and from wire-bus signals, while maintaining MIL-STD-1553B protocol and format. Bipolar, electrical Manchester waveforms are converted to unipolar Manchester type signals, and viceversa the FOTU circuitry is essentially transparent in both directions. Author
