The EMI problems associated with an airborne fiber optic communication system are examined. Interest is directed towards identifying possible noise sources and coupling channels which may exist. It is found that fiber optics transmission links can exhibit high degress of immunity to stray EMI so long as certain precautions are taken in the original system design. Qualitative guidelines for decreasing the EMI susceptibility are given. Particular problem points are also discussed. Author
