Abstract:

The Command Center Network CCN is a computer network designed to interconnect a diverse group of heterogeneous shipboard information and Command and Control C2 subsystems. This local network will utilize a single, high-speed data bus installed on the individual platform. As this network is envisioned, such subsystems as NTDS, NAVMACS, CCIS, SSES, TSA, CV-TSC, and CV-IC will be interconnected in order to correlate information to provide the best possible decision base for the commander. The Tactical Flag Command Center TFCC concept, which the CCN is essentially designed to support, is considered by the navy as the nerve center of future Command and Control. The CCN is envisioned to be the backbone of the TFCC. This thesis examines the system development of the CCN. Author
