Abstract:

Experimental research has been conducted to examine the combined effects of free-stream turbulence and favorable pressure gradients on flat-wall transitional boundary layers. Convective heat transfer coefficients, boundary layer mean velocity and temperature profile data, and wall static pressure distribution data were obtained for four combinations of free-stream turbulence intensity and favorable pressure gradient. Free-stream multi-component turbulence intensity, longitudinal integral scale, and spectral distributions were obtained for the various test cases.
