Our hypothesis was that heat flow in the individual organ can be arrested by exsanguination for a brief time. These experiments show that this brief time is of the order of one minute, and within this time the error of T sub b is no more than or - 0.1 C. We suggest that the procedure be called the Stop-Heat-Flow Technique for obtaining organ temperatures.
