Abstract:

An extension of a previously developed approximate theory, the effective dispersion theory, for wave propagation in a periodically-layered elastic body is given. While the previous theory was valid only for wave propagation normal to the layering, the present theory removes this restriction in the case of antiplane strain SH wave motion. Author
