This report presents the results from a study of a waveguide detector array implemented on GaAs. Each component of the array is developed to provide a model for determining the array operation. The fabrication procedures are then discussed in some detail. Each process step is described and the results evaluated. The finished array is then tested. Several measurements are made to determine the response characteristics, dynamic range, crosstalk, and device uniformity. The results of these measurements are then analyzed and comments made on the potential uses of this device. Author
