This report presents information, gathered for national samples representative of the population of American male youth 16 to 21 years old, on a variety of topics related to the transition from a draft-reliant to an all-voluntary military force. Data were obtained by means of six interview surveys conducted at 6-month intervals, beginning in May 1971 and concluding in November 1973.
