Abstract:
The feasibility of incorporating a fluidic angular rate sensor into a vehicle heading sensor system is investigated. A heading sensor of this type would find application in armored vehicles where a magnetic compass cannot be used. The study covers system considerations, microprocessor-based computational requirements, and the effects of rate sensor errors. Author
