Abstract:

A recently developed subroutine package for the integration of systems of differential-algebraic equations by implicit methods is used to compute solutions to Burgers equation. Burgers equation is discretized in space by finite difference methods to produce the differential-algebraic system. The finite differencing scheme provides for the continous automatic variation of the finite difference mesh during the course of the integration. A varity of numerical examples is presented and comparison is made with previously computed fixed mesh solutions. Author
