Abstract:

A numerical analysis technique has been developed to compute the fields inside a three-dimensional arbitrarily-shaped heterogeneous dielectric or biological body inside a rectangular waveguide. The numerical computation involves a dyadic Greens function containing a double infinite series, which is evaluated by a partial summation technique. The numerical results compared very well with reflection and thermographic measurements. This analytical approach should be an efficient tool in guiding the design of microwave applicators used for rapid inactivation of enzymes. Author
