Abstract:
The computer system at the Millstone Hill radar was upgraded in August, 1977, with the acquisition of a Harris 7220 system. The new computer is a virtual memory multitasking system capable of supporting up to 768 K bytes of user program simultaneously. A software system design was made for the radar system with the new computer. One of the components of the system is an on-line real time analytic orbit determination program. The purpose of the program is threefold 1 It is intended to act as a real-time monitor on the tracking performance of the radar 2 It is designed to function as a rapid orbit estimator available interactively to analyst.
