Abstract:

The measurement package consists of a modified commercially available gage together with a mounting system that anchors the gage close to the outer surface of the structure and isolates it from lateral stresses in the structure. This package is suitable for soil-structure interface stress measurement with full-scale gage ratings from 1.4 MPa to 20.7 MPa.
