Tunable Laser Excitation Profile of Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering from Pyridine Adsorbed on a Copper Electrode Surface.

The wavelength dependence of Surface Enhanced Raman Scattering from pyridine on a copper electrode has been measured and found to correlate closely with the optical properties of copper metal. The results are interpreted in the light of the image field model of the SERS mechanism. Data are presented which indicate that the observed time decay of the 1037 cm mode in the Ag case and the weakness of the 1037 cm mode on Cu may have a common origin. Author
