Abstract:

The action of N-butyllithium in hexane on CF2BrCHCH2CF2CH-CH2Br 52 yield 201 mixture in 511 THFEt2Opentane at -95 degrees C generates gem-difluoroallyllithium which may be trapped, generally in good yield, by the in situ procedure using triorganochlorosilanes yield R3SiCF2CHCH2 and aldehydes and ketones yield RRCOHCF2-CHCH2.
