Several studies have been carried out on a polyurethane elastomer Solithane 113. At atmospheric pressure dielectric methods were used to study epsiloninches over the temperature range from -180 degrees C to 20 degrees C. Three peaks in epsiloninches were observed and alpha peak associated with the glass transition and two low temperature peaks beta and lambda. Mechanical tests were performed to observe the effect of the pressure induced glass transition, Pg, on the Youngs Modulus. The glass transition was stuided as a function of pressure from 1 bar to 6.5 kilobar by observing the shift of the dielectric alpha-peak with pressure and also by volumetric methods. Author
