In an experiment conducted in conjunction with the MISERS BLUFF high- explosive detonation, the effects of the dust cloud on wave propagation at 3 MHz were assessed. The experiment used both vertical above-ground and horizontal buried antennas. The results indicate that the dust from this 720-ton ANFO detonation caused no appreciable propagation effects, as expected, although the shock wave perturbed communications for several seconds.
