The photolysis of fluorotrinitromethane was studied as a possible route to fluorodinitromethane. The photolysis in hydroxylic solvents gives fluorodinitromethane in yields non-isolated ranging from 25-50 under nonoptimized conditions. Fluorodinitromethane appears not to be formed in the photolysis in non-hydroxylic solvents. Author
