Abstract:

The EPIC-2 code has been used for the simulation of a kinetic energy projectile, with an LD length to diameter ratio of 3, impacting at normal obliquity a cylindrical fuel cell simulator. A discussion of the predicted hydrodynamic ram event is presented along with a comparison with experimental data.
