Solutions are presented for the one-dimensional and two-dimensional inward solidification of a material contained in a cylindrical annulus. The outer boundary is insulated and the inner boundary is subject to a constant efflux via a heat pipe. Results are presented for the axisymmetric case and for the cases of three and six longitudinal fins of rectangular cross section. The fins extend radially from inner to outer radius and were symmetrically spaced in the circumferential direction. The phase change material was LiF-MgF2-KF and was assumed to be initially at the fusion temperature. Author
