This report evaluates the effectiveness of two racial harmony training courses for unit leaders, one for company commanders and the other for first sergeants. Both courses were designed to help unit leaders fulfill their responsibilities in the area of race relations and improve the level of racial harmony within their own units. The commanders course included a rather traditional race relations curriculum, whereas the first sergeants course focused on increasing communication within the chain of command.
