Abstract:
This study attempts to determine the most viable employment techniques and tactics that the air cavalry squadron airborne can use in the conduct of the airborne antiarmor defense. The investigation is focused on a general analysis of the airborne antiarmor defense, the threat facing the cavalry squadron and how these combine to allow the cavalry to survive and accomplish their mission on a mid-intensity battlefield in support of an airborne division. The investigation reveals that improved tactics and employment techniques will enhance mission accomplishment and survivability of the air cavalry squadron. It also confirms that developments to improve the mission capabilities of the air cavalry squadron in the airborne antiarmor defense are well within current technology. Author
