Abstract:

The attached Preliminary Design Plan and Visualization Data is submitted for development of a 30 - 80 MHz directional log-periodic lightweight, transportable antenna for tactical field use. The Preliminary Design Plan interprets the technical parameters identified in the technical requirements. Each requirement is reduced to an item of material. Electrical characterisics of the antenna under development are described. Each electrical requirement as set forth in ECOM specification DS-EH-0050AA is discussed and the method of satisfying the requirement is shown. No changes or difficulties are anticipated in the electrical approach. Mechanical characteristics of the antenna array under development are described. Preliminary drawings and sketches with discussion of each component part illustrate the approach taken to satisfy the specified requirements.
