Abstract:

The Dynamic Student Flow Model is a computer-based system using network flow theory for producing solutions with the maximum throughput of flight students with the minimum time to train. A principal result is the input and output schedule plus a variety of data for analyses of the jet, prop, and helo pipeline flows. This paper documents the results of exercising the model on six distinctly different scenarios. Each scenario emphasizes some particular capability of the model, illustrating its flexibility at the executive, staff, and managerial levels of applications. Certain strengths and weaknesses of the current version of the model also become readily apparent. Author
