Abstract:

This report presents motion predictions for the aircraft carriers CVA-59, CVA-66, CVAN-68. Specifically, NAVSEA 942W requested pitch, roll and yaw rates and period information for Sea States 2 through 6 and speeds of 10, 20 and 25 knots. Furthermore headings were to be selected to yield maximum pitch, roll and yaw rates. The predictions were made using the MITA five-degree-of-freedom ship motion computer program. Tables give the principal characteristics of the three carriers.
