The objective of this program was to develop a technique for reclaiming used synthetic turbine engine oil mixtures and to demonstrate the technical feasibility of the developed reclamation technique by restoring a limited number of used MIL-L-7808 oils to a satisfactory performance level. Reclamation process studies based on approaches utilized by the natural oil and fat refining industry resulted in the development of a reclamation process applicable to synthetic ester turbine engine oils. The components of a reclamation process applicable to a broad range of used MIL 7808G oil mixtures were defined and the technical feasibility established by reclamation and evaluation via qualification tests of two batches of used oils. Recommendations for improvement and refinement of the process and approaches to more extensive documentation of its viability were made. Author
