Abstract:
To implement the structural application of the recently introduced fiber-governed symmetric compliance model for bimodulus compostie materials, both classical closed-form and finite-element solutions are being developed. This paper summarizes the results obtained for deflection of single-layer orthotropic and two-layer, cross-ply plates of the following configurations and loadings 1 Thin elliptic plates clamped on the boundary and subjected to uniform pressure. 2 Moderately thick rectangular plate freely supported on the boundary and subjected to sinusoidally distributed pressure.
