Abstract:

A standard recommended practice for the use of thermoluminescence dosimetry TLD systems has been developed. It is intended for the use of facilities that are engaged in the radiation-hardness testing of electronic components and systems. The practice has been written in the form of an ASTM standard for determination of absorbed dose in a medium as a result of photon or electron irradiation. It covers various aspects of TLD systems such as performance testing, dose calibration, and use procedures and precautions. A selected bibliography of TLD characteristics is included. Author
